This orange blossom hydrosol is particularly special. It was harvested from the California Coastal Horse Rescue property. This is a place that rescues horses and gives them a second chance to be loved and live. Each horse I've met there has been so deeply content, it's such a beautiful group of people and animals.
 
This year, due to more rain and an early heatwave, blossoms are at least a month off and opening way too fast and all at once. I went out one evening and picked each orange blossom one-by-one, being careful not to disturb the ones that had honey bees sleeping in them. The trees were so happy to see me even though they usually get to see me daily for over a month. 
 
It was the full, pink moon and felt like such a sacred mission. This was the one day I would get to gather enough blossoms to make hydrosol and they were distinctly sweet so I doubled them, knowing they would not last and made it extra strong.
 
My favorite way to enjoy orange blossom hydrosol is spraying it in my hair and going to sleep smelling it as it enhances my dreams. It is an uplifting spray with gentle essences of the blossoms and it can help with sadness to uplift you, it can help you fall asleep, it can feel peaceful and loving to smell it.
